We teach French across Key Stage 2 using the Institut Français Primary French Project, a structured and engaging programme designed specifically for UK primary schools.

Through songs, stories, native‑speaker audio, and interactive activities, pupils develop confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing simple French. Lessons introduce key vocabulary and phonics step by step, covering topics such as greetings, numbers, family, food, and seasons.

The project also helps children explore French culture and traditions, encouraging curiosity about the wider world. Our aim is for all pupils to enjoy language learning and build strong foundations for continuing French in secondary school.
